The facelifted SL model was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and will soon be appearing in the US by way of the 2009 model. The new SL gets an updated front end to reflect new design philosophy from Mercedes, with a pair of long powerdomes on the bonnet and a single-bar grille replacing the old three-bar version.
Improvements have also been made on the engines as the 3.5L V6 is uprated to 311 PS at 6500 rpm. Compared to the previous 3.5-litre engine, the output has been boosted by 16 percent. Torque has also been improved. This engine now can rev up to a max of 7200 rpm for a period as the oil temperature and other engine parameters permitting, a higher compression ratio, a new intake manifold and extensively modifying and lightening the valve train. Fortunately, however, the extra power does not come at the expense of fuel economy. Delivering a consumption figure of 9.9 litres per 100 kilometres, the new SL 350 undercuts the previous model developing 200 kW by 0.4 litres per 100 kilometres.

The Mercedes-Benz CLK gets a lot of attention in Denver and surrounding parts. It’s no wonder … the CLK’s a class act. By category the Mercedes-Benz CLK is considered to be a mid-size luxury rear-wheel drive coupé (but hey that’s kind of technical). To perhaps more of us, it’s just a really nice car.
While the Mercedes-Benz CLK is based on the C-Class, its styling cues, engine, and other attributes could be considered closer to the E-class Mercedes. Some might say this positions the CLK as something of a coupé version of the E-class. Major standard equipment on the CLK350 includes 17-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, power seats, dual-zone climate control and a power tilt-telescoping steering wheel. Interior accommodations are airy in CLK coupes, thanks to their pillarless design. CLK convertibles have a quick-acting power-operated cloth top. In addition to their extra power, CLK550 models add a body kit, different-colored interior pieces and paddle shifters for the automatic transmission.

This system is now hailed by safety experts, and studies have shown stability control and systems like it are capable of reducing single vehicle crashes by up to 30 percent.
Furthermore, the M-Class boasts front- and side-impact airbags with advanced occupant detection for the front passenger seat, which, combined with Mercedes’ legendary safety structure, earned the M-Class the highest marks in insurance industry crash tests.

Mercedes-Benz has stated that they will build 3500 SLRs in a span of 7 years, with an annual production of about 500 cars. The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren is inspired by the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR of 1955. On April 4, 2008, Mercedes announced they will cease production of the SLR. The last of the coupes rolled off the production line at the end of 2007 and the roadster version is due to be discontinued in early 2009.
